"Come to Me and I Will Give You Rest."
18x24 inches
Oil on canvas
"In an account of Jesus' life, written by his follower Matthew, in chapter 11, verse 28, Jesus Christ of Nazareth says, 'Come to me all who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.'
This painting filled me with a peace that reminded me of that verse. Perhaps that is something that will resonate with you as well."

"Last Kiss of Light"
18x24 inches
Oil on canvas
"I often take walks at that mystical time of day around golden hour, when the sun is reluctantly falling back behind the horizon. As the sun falls, its impression on that which it touches is gold and red.
It's those last moments that I adore so much — the sun bids the world goodbye, and the 'Last Kiss of Light' lingers."

"Brothers Swimming in the Evening"
11x14 inches
Oil on canvas
"I grew up with my 10 siblings in the countryside of Mississippi... as a kid, my brothers and I often explored the small forest behind our own land and swam in the creek we found there.
I look back so fondly on that season in my life.
This painting stirs a lot of those memories for me."

"Mississippi Has the Prettiest Clouds"
11x14 inches
Oil on canvas
"My best friend showed me photos he took at the Reservoir, northeast of Jackson, and remarked, 'Mississippi has the prettiest clouds.'
I thought was that this couldn't possibly be true—there must be a million places on earth with more beautiful clouds—but I smiled big. Something about that made me so happy. I loved his enthusiasm—his p
"Steady She Goes"
18x24 inches
Oil on canvas
"To me, this painting isn't all that complicated. 'Steady She Goes' is about the waves. Whether they be rough or calm, we go on. We will face them and move forward to feel the sun shine on our face again."

"Sea Trial"

"Sea Trial marks the push from the shoreline for me; a venture into a new and exciting territory, and a test of my own limits and abilities.
Before painting 'Sea Trial,' I had never painted a seascape before — here marks a first glimpse of my calling."

"Heading Home"
11x14 inches
Oil on canvas
"I may not know these fishermen personally, but I deeply relate to them. I imagine they've had a long day of work, likely since dawn, perhaps a hard day, perhaps unsuccessful. Their arms tire from hoisting nets, their hands are wet and raw, their backs strained from their work.
But now the day is winding down, they take up their sail, their work completed, the
"Yellow is the Color of Light"
10x10 inches
Oil on canvas
"Claude Monet (1840-1926, French Impressionist) once said, 'Yellow is the Color of Light, and purple is the color of shadows.'
While painting this small work, I was inspired by his words. Where I saw dull white or tan, I infused yellow, and where I saw dull browns or grays, I injected purple. I found the effect to be quite pleasant; I hope Cla
"Where the Light Rests"
8x16 inches
Oil on canvas
"Here I am, imagining I live in the scene I've painted, again...
Floating peacefully, observing the ripples in the water, the reflections on the tranquil body; mountains loom behind, clouds hang above, a distant sun sings quietly, its golden rays penetrating the curtain and finding its place 'Where the Light Rests.'"
